At Taking It To The Streets,
I am dedicated to uplifting the poor, hungry, lonely and unseen individuals in our community. My mission, and what sets this organization apart, is to provide genuine friendship first and then essential services and support to those in need among us. It is a profound way of saying we see you, we hear you, and we want to come alongside you because we care.
Tracy Fox, Founder
Nestor - 60 He was living in a dumpster in Darien, CT. We reunited him with his daughter, provided a new apartment for 2 years and got him a job at Stop and Shop. Listen to his story on Spotify here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/0QiNJ3pAu2q6sTw47JKzO
Giancarlo - 18 Found walking with no shoes near a Stop N Shop. I washed his feet, gave him new socks and sneakers, a hot meal and $150 in a grocery gift card. He asked me to drive him to a nearby park to pick up his only beloved possession -- a baseball bat. Giancarlo wants to play baseball like his namesake Giancarlo Stanton.
Teresa - 40 Eating out of a garbage can next to a restaurant, I befriended Teresa with a gift card to have a proper meal and a hotel stay. We are in search of a place she can call her own.
Peter- 55 A veteran who was begging at an exit ramp. He had walked miles with his prosthetic leg to secure a location to ask for funds. The day we helped him, he had only collected $5 in his cup.
Blondson - 60 - A high school teacher who fell on hard times. We raised enough money to buy him a used car so he could work at Door Dash and have safe place to lay his head between shifts. He has written an amazing book called Haiti 2030 and Beyond.

Takin' It To The Streets"
You don't know me but I'm your brother
I was raised here in this living hell
You don't know my kind in your world
Fairly soon the time will tell
You, telling me the things you're gonna do for me
I ain't blind and I don't like what I think I see
Takin' it to the streets
Takin' it to the streets
Take this message to my brother
You will find him everywhere
Wherever people live together
Tied in poverty's despair
